5:48 PM: Decker endorses Obama

State Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker, D-Weston, endorsed Dem presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

"Listening to Senator Obama speak yesterday about his plan to support technical colleges here in Wisconsin and around the country really sealed the deal for me," Decker said in an Obama campaign releas. "It's clear to me that Senator Obama recognizes the importance of training our workforce for the high-end manufacturing jobs that are essential to Wisconsin's economy."

10:17 AM: Doyle on 'Hardball'

Gov. Jim Doyle was on MSNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews" this week to pump up Barack Obama and the presidential primary in Wisconsin. Matthews then goes after Doyle for not mentioning much in the way of specifics of how Obama has helped Wisconsin's economy in the U.S. Senate.

10:59 PM: Students: We relate to Obama more

University of Wisconsin freshmen Lauren Plesh and Jennifer Buelow said they came to Obama's rally to "learn more" about the candidate.

But, they already are leaning toward supporting him.

"Young people are attracted to him," Plesh said shortly before Doyle took the stage. "We relate to him more."

Plesh and Buelow said the are especially interested in this election, because this is the first one that they can participate in.

They said that they got in line when they left the Southeast Recreation Facility - the student gym - around 5 p.m. They said that a lot of people were already waiting in line, but they still managed to get a seat toward the front.

5:43 PM: Obama plans rally at Kohl Center

Dem presidential hopeful Barack Obama is holding a rally Tuesday at the Kohl Center in Madison, according to a campaign release. Details on the start time of the rally aren't confirmed, but the campaign release says the doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public.

Gov. Jim Doyle, who endorsed Obama, is quoted in the release.

"Barack Obama is going to make his case to the people of Wisconsin that it's time we had a president who will stand up for hardworking families and build a strong, thriving middle class," Doyle said in the release. "He has tremendous momentum coming into the Wisconsin primary, and Tuesday's rally will be a great opportunity to showcase his strong, grassroots support from throughout the state. This will not only be a chance to hear Barack Obama's vision for our country - but to get actively involved in this movement for change."

3:28 PM: Obama launches second state TV ad campaign

Dem presidential hopeful Barack Obama launched a second television ad campaign in Wisconsin today, highlighting his health care plan.

Obama says in the ad that in order to "fix health care, we have to fix Washington."

This is Obama's second TV ad campaign, announcing his first round of ads Wednesday.
