4:14 PM: Doyle blasts negative Clinton ad

Gov. Doyle accused the Hillary Clinton campaign of "hypocrisy" for running a new negative ad against Barack Obama in Wisconsin while the New York Senator campaigns elsewhere.

"He's out here in the state having a one-sided debate right now," Doyle said of Obama. The governor and Obama national spokesman Bill Burton talked with reporters in a conference call after attending a campaign rally with Obama in Oshkosh.

"To have Senator Clinton launch these false and negative attacks... is just more of this, the politics that he's talking about doing away with," Doyle said. "She has not reached out to the voters of Wisconsin at all."

In the ad, the Clinton campaign accuses Obama of "hiding behind false attack ads." The ad also says the Illinois Senator's health plan would leave 15 million people uninsured, and that he supports giveaways to oil companies and cutting Social Security benefits. Doyle refuted those claims, saying that Wisconsinites have been able to hear specifics about Obama's plans up close.

"To claim that somehow he's a lackey for the big oil companies is just laughable," Doyle said.
