Finance pares down agenda for Friday, Saturday
The Joint Finance Committee is set to meet today at 11 a.m. with a slimmed down list of budget papers.
Today's agenda includes Veterans Affairs Health Facilities, District Attorneys, Public Defender, the domestic partners benefits proposal, and the University of Wisconsin System.
The JFC will also meet tomorrow at 10 a.m. to move through more budget items, but some that were originally planned for this week are being held over to next week's schedule, according to co-chair Rep. Mark Pocan's office. Tomorrow's list of items include prevailing wage, the Department of Justice, numerous items in the Department of Health Services, and insurance items excluding motor vehicle liability changes.
Agencies such as the departments of Public Instruction and Transportation and shared revenue which had been on this week's agenda are among those now moved into next week.
The committee will meet multiple days next week, with the goal remaining to finish its work on the budget by the end of the month, according to Pocan's spokesman.
