DA funding debated
Gov. Jim Doyle recommended cutting $1.3 million for district attorney funding.
Sen. Darling, citing public safety and short staffing that already exists in DAs' offices, moves alternative 3 on budget paper 310 to restore the funding, but that motion was defeated 12-4 on a party-line vote.
The governor's position was adopted.
