Contest Entrants Pick Dems in Big Races, GOP Legislative Control
In a completely unscientific look at tomorrow's election, the majority of respondents to the WisPolitics election contest predicted Democratic wins in the state's top races (governor, attorney general and the 8th Congressional District). But a majority also predicted Republicans would keep control of both houses of the Legislature.
Entries came from Republican, Democratic and independent Web viewers and news service subscribers. WisPolitics.com itself makes no predictions.
The election contest, which closed last Tuesday, showed contest participants picking Doyle over Green, 78.5 percent to 21.5 percent. Contest participants picked Dem Kathleen Falk over Republican J.B. Van Hollen, 65.8 percent to 34.2 percent.
And in the 8th CD, 55.7 percent of respondents picked Dem Steve Kagen compared to 44.3 percent for Republican John Gard.
By lopsided margins, participants agreed both houses of the Legislature were likely to remain in Republican hands.
The winners of the WisPolitics election contest will be announced later this week.
